DECADENCE EBM AND UNDERGROUND MUSIC.: THE KAN ( INTERVIEW )

THE KAN stands for the circle in japanese, i used this name because i think its what defines this Project,i have been in several styles of music in my life and on THE KAN i close this circle combining all my influences at one Project, THE KAN is a hybryd metal Project that combines both worlds of electronic and metal.

1) Introduce yourself please...

THE KAN: My name is Vitesh Morarji, i´m 37 years old , im a dj/producer and founder of Extreme Alliance Records.

2) How did you start to make music?

THE KAN: I started in music by playing bass in a Death metal band, a few years later i started having connection with electronic music, started djaying in some small psytrance parties and learning how to work in DAW´s,i started releasing dubstep songs for PLUR label as V-TESH and psytrance tracks as NOISY ROOTS, in 2014 i started an experimental álbum called Digital Graveyard and discovered a perfect blend of syles that defines THE KAN until today, a fusion of electronic styles such as Drum´n´bass, breackcore,psy dark,hardcore,dubstep etc. with Metal. i love this Project because it has no artistic boundaries i can do whatever i feel.

3) Tell me what are the most influence in your music?

THE KAN : Well i have lots of diferent influences, direct or indirectly all the bands that i like has some inflence on my music, i love bands like Sepultura,Pantera,Deicide;Rammestein,Prodigy,Dark Soho,Tim Schultz,Juno Reactor,Fear Factory.

4) Tell me about the electronic music scene in Portugal?

THE KAN: Portugal has a very strong scene in electronic music, we have great artists,national and international playing here every weeks and top quality festivals, so yes i think its good.

5) Do you have some contacts around the world?

THE KAN : Well yes i have some, as manager of Extreme Alliance Records we release many international artists, we have artists from japan,canada,usa,spanish,romani,austria,argentina,england, Emerson Félix from brazilian Project Signal Operator wich you know very well has been part of our latest compilation, you know nowadays with the internet its easier to contact artists from other countries even to do collabs.

6) What do you think about electronic music around the world? And Why?

THE KAN :
Well i guess the underground movements are still true to themselves,i think genres like psytrance,techno,drum´n´bass, EBM,hardcore are going very well around the world and im pleased with that, but then there are styles like EDM that i personnaly dont like, and worst, there are that fake djs that goes to the stage and pass an entire set with the hands on the air, how does they mix if the hands are always on the air??and unfortunnatly that kind of electronic music is growing very fast as well.

7) We would like to know more about your new album...

THE KAN : Well my new álbum is called BRUTAL SOCIETY and as been released in november, you can buy it on my bandcamp or at almost every digital stores,this álbum has a prety strong vibe of hard drum´n´bass,industrial,trash metal and grindcore,i had a blast producing it if you are looking for something diferent and extreme to headbang you should have a listen.
