Brazilian hardcore/punk band from Sao Paulo city formed in 1980.
History :
The band was formed in
1980 when Fábio Sampaio was in an essay on Cólera at Casa Verde, where
another band also rehearsed in the same garage.
This band called OSSO OCO had Sartana as drummer. By
the end of the test Fábio asks the drummer that he had a more direct
way of playing if he could make a rhythm for a lirycs he had written. Soon after Val Pinheiro and Redson Pozzi come together assuming the bass and the guitar. The
idea was to record an EP and then finish the band because Fábio Sampaio
thought it was bad for members to play in more than one band at the same
time.
In 1982
Grito Suburbano, the first collection of Brazilian punk bands and of the festival O começo do fim do mundo, both marks of the beginning of
the punk movement in Brazil.
Kai
Horn, one of the founder members, left the group suddenly before their
first recording. The first single was recorded with the support of Chrislo Haas and Robert Görl (both DAF members at the time). The recording of a jam session was carried out in an underground shelter using a cassettedictation machine. In 1979 the band released 1500 units of their debut single themselves. This was the start of Der Plan's own label "Warning Records", later known as "Ata Tak". Their early recordings are reminiscent of industrial sounds of the same period (e.g. early works of US band Chrome).
1980s
Kurt Dahlke aka Pyrolator (ex DAF) joined Der Plan a short time later. The group became more musical, clearly reducing the noisy elements of their songs. Their 1980 debut album Geri Reig still showed their experimental side. On this album, they strongly displayed their musical influences, which included The Residents and Throbbing Gristle. Some titles were kept deliberately "inaudible" by the members in order to explore the boundary of music.
At the end of the year, they released the single Da Vorne Steht 'Ne Ampel which had a plausible melody. Der Plan thereby began to seek out a musical framework which would lead to their later style of "Electronic Schlager" (electronic hit song), or "Synthi Pop", as they called it themselves. The single became one of the first hit tunes of Neue Deutsche Welle, and the group received offers from major record companies. Der Plan decided to remain independent within their own label, although they accepted a partial contract with Teldec to re-release the single. The LP Normalette Surprise was released in 1981 where the group developed "electronic schlagers" further and finally fixed their own style.
In 1982, Rainer Kirberg, the film director, made a film Die letzte Rache (The Last Revenge), for which Der Plan composed the soundtrack. The group not only provided the film music: Moritz R was partly responsible for the film's surrealisticscenic design, which resembled The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari-like German expressionism, whilst Frank Fenstermacher played a small role as an actor. The film was broadcast by ZDF
as a part of "Das Kleine Fernsehspiel" series and received critical
acclaim. The soundtrack emphasized the group's experimental side in a
mixture of experimental sounds and plausible melodies as in preceding
works.
In 1984, Der Plan released two singles. Gummitwist did
not achieve the expected high chart position, although it was released
by a major label (WEA) and enabled the group to appear on ARD's music program "Formel Eins". Soon after that, the double single Golden Cheapos was released. It featured three instrumental tunes. The group subsequently released the video Japlan, after which they did a successful Japan tour. The LP entitled Japlan was quite successful in the Japanese market, but was never released in Germany. This LP work was re-released in CD in 2002.
In 1985, the compilation album LP Fette Jahre
(Fat years) was released in Germany. It contained well-known single
tracks, outtakes, and remixes of previous works. The record sleeve shows
an ironic picture of the band members disguised in homeless type clothing.
A new album was released in 1987, entitled Es Ist Eine Fremde Und Seltsame Welt (It is a strange world). The title was taken from a famous quote of Blue Velvet by the cult director David Lynch. The sleeve is very eye-catching, as the wording and the main monochrome image are almost entirely in black. One song from this album 1 Mann, 1 Ball was later covered by Der wahre Heino.
As CDs swept across the market, Der Plan decided to release their best album in CD. It was released in 1988 under the title of Perlen.
Breakup
Working
for the label and record distribution activities over-shadowed the
focusing on the band's music. Differences within the group about career
priorities began in 1983, resulting in Moritz R leaving the label Ata Tak and moving to Hamburg. Since then Der Plan had changed from a full-time project to an occasional side-project of its members.
Nevertheless they released yet another album, entitled Die Peitsche Des Lebens in 1989, which was much less successful than their previous works.
In 1992 Der Plan eventually split up.
In 1993 the fake live album "Live At The Tiki Ballroom ...",
which is confirmed as a studio album on their official website, was
released. Its first edition was accompanied by a mini CD, which
contained "techno versions" of well known Der Plan titles.
Moritz R dedicated himself to painting after the group's break up. He chronicled his experiences as part of Der Plan in the book Der Plan - Glanz und Elend der Neuen Deutschen Welle (Der Plan - the Splendor and Misery of the New German Wave). Pyrolator and Frank Fenstermacher formed a trance project A Certain Frank later. They joined another German group, Fehlfarben in 2002.
Der Plan v4.0
Der Plan was formed again as Der Plan v4.0 in Berlin by Moritz R, Achim Treu and JJ Jones in 2003. The album Die Verschwörung (The Conspiracy) was released in 2004.
Der Plan v5.0
In 2008 Der Plan was formed as Der Plan v5.0 within the online virtual world Second Life.
The entirely virtual band played two gigs using scans of stage designs
and masks from their real life in the early 1980s and was represented by
the avatars Mo Eriksen, Moni Duettmann and Popeye235 Baxter.
Musical Style
Der Plan's musical style is a thing of much, and often heated debate. It has been referred to (in almost equal measures as "a work of Genius", and "the demented results of a kindergarten music project gone terribly wrong".
Distemper is a ska punk band from Moscow that was founded in 1989 and is also successful outside of Russia.
History
Distemper was founded on 4 September 1989 in Moscow. They started out as a hardcore punk
band and released their first record 2 years after the band was
founded, still not very successful. In 1992 Dazent joined as a singer,
who gave the band his characteristic hoarse voice. In 1993 they released
another album. With their 1995 record Город (City) they had
integrated a brass section and their style shifted to ska punk. They
released 2 more albums and in 1998 they were already a widely known punk
band in Russia and were the first known ska band in Russia.
Distemper are known for many good live performances. In 2002 they
started going on tour in Europe and had many performances outside of
Russia. By then they were also known in Germany and released Доброе утро (Good morning) on vinyl in Germany, which received excellent reviews. In 2003 they had a track on the sampler Russendisko-Hits
and a growing fanbase, especially in Germany. They played 100 shows
outside of Russia in the next 3 years and had performances on big
Festivals like Force Attack (2005 and 2007) later on.
They received the Best Ska Band of Russia award in 2006 and their 2007 album Мир создан для тебя was nominated for the Rock Alternative Music Prize as album of the year.
Music
Distemper's music can be characterized by upbeat
ska-punk. They mix fast and powerful punk rhythms with the danceable
ska melodies. The hoarse voice of the Russian singer gives them a
distinct sound.
Today the line-up the band is made up of the usual
drums, bass-guitar and guitar, plus a brass section consisting of a
trumpet and a trombone.

"C.A.P. ( Controlled Analogue Programming ) started in 1996 as a solo project by Leif Holm (founder of
Pouppée Fabrikk) and turned into a duo in 1999 when Christiaan Riemslag
joined. In 2001 C.A.P. were signed to the German record label Life Is
Painful Records (home for acts like Dupont and Restricted Area) and will
release their first full length album now in 2002.
As for the sound,
its best described as minimalistic, oldschool EBM. Its made up of few
elements — hard rythms, analogue basslines and sparse vocals. Since Leif
also is involved in Pouppиe Fabrikk the C.A.P. material is doomed to be
held in comparison with the more well known works of PF. If comparison
is to be made one could say that C.A.P.s sound lays closest to PFs first
releases (Rage, Summoning, etc) with some clear influences from the
early works of acts like D.A.F. and Nitzer Ebb." (c) Official C.A.P.

Die Form is a French post-industrial and electronic band formed in 1977-78. The name 'Die Form' means '(the) form/shape' in German, like the Bauhaus diary and is a play on the English homonym 'deformed' and on the French homonym 'difforme' (deformed).
Biography
Die
Form is the primary project of the French electronic musician and
multimedia artist Philippe Fichot. He began by recording a number of
experimental cassette releases, starting with Die Form 1 in 1977, and
with the first Die Form vinyl release ('Die Puppe') appearing in 1982.
Whilst the project was still in its infancy, the underlying concepts
were still evident - a combination of esoteric electronic experiments
with an underlying theme of erotism, death and other 'taboo' subjects,
apparent in both the music and the album artwork, which Philippe also
produces. Other early projects of Philippe Fichot included Krylon Hertz,
Mental Code, Camera Obscura, Eva-Johanna Reichstag, Hurt and Fine
Automatic.
'Some Experiences With Shock' followed in 1984, with the project
taking a direction towards a more commercial sound on 1986's 'Poupée
Mécanique'. The project then consolidated its experimental and melodic
sides on 'Photogrammes', before introducing vocalist (and model) Eliane
P. on the 1991 album 'Corpus Delicti', who remains with the project to
this day. The next release, 1992's 'Confessions' saw a club hit in
'Silent Order', with sister album 'Ad Infinitum' (which originated from
the same recording sessions) released a year later.
The next 'Die Form' releases saw the poetic, emotional side of their
sound richen via 'The Trilogy of Passions', starting with 'Suspiria De
Profundis' in 1994, followed by 'L'âme électrique' the following year.
1997's 'Duality' does not complete the trilogy, Phillipe Fichot choosing
to leave the project open-ended. The 'Histories' compilation discs
appeared in 1998, with the next album 'Extremum/XX' appearing in 2000.
Then followed the 'diptych' of 'InHuman' (2004) and 'ExHuman' (2006),
continuing their release of interrelated concept albums.
"The Bach project"
was released in January 2008, an album obviously devoted to Bach. Die
Form first presented this work live during the annual Bach Days in the
German city of Leipzig, where they got invited. Die Form has created a
new show for this project with the German dancer Sabine Seume.
Die Form left Trisol to join Out of Line
in late 2008. A new single, "Her[t]z Frequenz", was released in October
2008, followed by the "Best of XXX" in November 2008 (a compilation
with reworked and remastered songs from the past 30 years).
In 2009, "Noir Magnétique" saw Die Form back in a club-oriented
sound. The album was made available on CD only, with a special edition
limited to 999 copies in a box with a 7" single and extra artwork. Die
Form created a new show with Laina Fischbeck on stage.
In March 2010, a vinyl boxset compilation of early K-Cassette material was released on Vinyl-On-Demand.
In 2011, a double-CD digipak limited edition of Sombre Printemps
("Ambient & Film Music 1+2") has been released on Out Of Line.

Mad Sin is a German psychobilly
group that began in 1987. Their style is not "...constrained by the
psychobilly into punk, country and metal influences
too."
Style
Mad Sin,
formed in 1987, have been inspired by horror punk and B-movie, with a
theatrical style.
Without abandoning the psycho-horror lyrical content,
their musical arrangements have widened to incorporate other variables. That attitude blasts through Mad Sin's sped-up combination of rockabilly, punk, white-trash blues and tongue-in-cheek sarcasm.

Founded
1987 by Koefte De Ville, who had just dropped out of school, punk and
rockabilly guitarist Stein and four-week-bass-playing Holly, they

several shady bars of Berlin.
They played as street musicians in
shopping malls, where they played rockabilly, country, and blues songs
to get the tourist's money.
2010
On April 23, 2010, Mad Sin released their eleventh album Burn and Rise on People Like You records.
